What happens if there is damage to my house and/or the road outside my property?
All relevant resident/properties have been offered a free pre-condition survey of your property before the works. The surveys will be carried out by an independent firm of chartered surveyors, Brown Rural. The survey will provide information about the current condition of your property, so that in the unlikely event it sustains any damage as a result of the works, we have the baseline evidence to understand what has changed. You will be entitled to compensation from the Environment Agency for any loss or damage you incur as a result of the works. The surveys will evidence the damage caused in order to substantiate your claim. The road will be monitored regularly and repaired as required throughout the works and once the works are complete.
How will you ensure the safety of residents? Am I going to get run over coming out of my front door?
Keeping pedestrians and local residents safe is a top priority during the works. Our contractor, BAM Nuttall, is part of the Considerate Constructors Scheme and is committed to working safely, responsibly, and with respect for the local community.

Residents will be kept informed in advance about the works and any changes to access.
