River Wye Diffuse Water Pollution Plan

In November 2025, the Environment Agency developed the Diffuse Water Pollution Plan (DWPP) for the River Wye Special Area of Conservation, which sets out five strategic priorities to improve water quality and help protect this nationally important river system.

We are now sharing the DWPP, accompanied by two supporting documents: a Statement of Intent and an Implementation Plan. The Statement of Intent explains how the Environment Agency, working with Natural England, will take forward the strategic priorities, while the Implementation Plan sets out how progress will be reviewed, how evidence will inform future decisions and how findings will be reported over time.
