Pevensey Bay beach management update - 24 September

Our annual shingle recharge and recycling programme is now underway between Sovereign Harbour and Cooden Beach, helping to protect local communities from coastal erosion and flooding. There will be increased activity, we appreciate there may be some temporary disruption and will work to minimise this wherever possible. Thank you for your patience while these important works are carried out.

Please take care around work areas, follow signs and beach marshal instructions, and keep dogs on leads near machinery.

• Now until the 5 November (weather permitting) – The Sospan Dau will be carrying out beach recharge works.

• 28 September to end of October – Shingle recycling from Hastings to Sovereign Harbour.

• 12 to 16 October – Shingle bypass operation from Eastbourne to Sovereign Harbour.
