Pevensey Bay beach management update - 18 September

Beach recharge works start tomorrow at Pevensey Bay!

You may notice the Sospan Dau offshore as it begins the first of four planned beach recharge operations over the next couple of months.

The vessel will replenish the beach by depositing shingle, known as 'rainbowing', for around a week before moving to Elmer Beach to carry out similar work. It will then return to Pevensey Bay for the next recharge operation.

These recharges are an important part of helping to maintain the beach and reduce the risk of coastal flooding and erosion this autumn.
