Phase One: Embankments September 2026
Tattershall
Work on this section of embankment along the River Bain is now complete and the Public Right of Way has reopened. The improvements help protect the embankment from future erosion while also improving access between Tattershall village and Dogdyke, and from Tattershall Lakes Country Park onto the footpath.
Our team and contractors reinstated areas where the embankment had settled over time. We strengthened the embankment by adding and compacting layers of clay, before adding topsoil and grass seed to complete the work. As the grass establishes, its roots will help hold the soil together and provide lasting protection.
A crushed stone path has also been laid along the crest of the embankment to provide long-term protection against erosion and improve accessibility along this popular riverside route.
As the area continues to establish, we ask visitors to use the path responsibly and follow any signage in place.
Works including a crushed stone path are now complete at Tattershall.
Access has been improved to the Public Right of Way.Halfpenny bridge, River Slea/ Kyme Eau
We have now started work upstream of Halfpenny Bridge on the River Slea/Kyme Eau. Here, we are aiming to strengthen the embankment and reduce seepage during periods of high river flow. To do this, we are adding clay to the embankment core.
There will be some minor disruption while work takes place. We will close the nearby road during working hours, approximately 7:30am to 4:00pm. We will reopen the road during evenings and at weekends.
