I joined the Flood Hydrology Improvements Programme having come from 13 years as an operational flood risk hydrologist in SEPA.
This exciting and ambitious programme combines my passion for hydrometric data and flood risk, supporting the hydrological community by ensuring our data is the best it can be now and in the future.
Outside of work, you will find me either walking or running along the banks of the River Tay with my dogs or swimming in the Tay

Salim AyomayaProject Manager (Phase D5.1) @ Environment Agency
I manage the hydrometric data uncertainty quantification and data rescue projects. I joined FHIP as it entails helping to deliver a programme that will us to more effectively manage flood hazards and support flood risk management strategies. This aligns with my interests.
I have a Bachelors degree in Geology, Masters in Petroleum Geoscience and recently completed my PhD Geology studies from Royal Holloway, University of London.
In my free time, I enjoy watching football and am an Arsenal fan.

Carl TownleyProject Manager (Phase D5.2)
I joined the Flood Hydrology Improvement Programme in December 2022.
Before FHIP, I spent 6 years in various Hydrometry and Telemetry roles across the Environment Agency and consultancy. For me, the FHIP offers a unique opportunity to deliver widespread and lasting improvements to areas where I can fully appreciate the impact.
Outside of work I enjoy hiking, going to the beach, and climbing.
