Wadborough Watchlist site 107
The site
A waste site in Wadborough, near Worcester, Worcestershire has been listed as site 107 on the Environment Agency’s watchlist of high-risk waste sites currently being investigated. Approximately 10,000 tonnes of waste was imported onto the site between April 2023 and November 2024. The waste consists mostly of small particles of construction waste, shredded waste and some poor-quality aggregate.
The problem
There has been a previous history of fires at the site and there is a small watercourse near the northern boundary of the site which could potentially be impacted by pollution.
The action we've taken
There is an open investigation into the unlawful waste deposits at the site. Waste currently remains on the site, but the site has been closed and we are monitoring it on a regular basis.
We have been in contact with the landowner and informed them that the waste should be removed. We will work with them to understand when this is likely to happen.
We will continue to monitor the site, assess environmental risks, work with our partners and take any appropriate regulatory action, where necessary. We also regularly update the local MP on the ongoing situation at the site.
