EA Action

What has the Environment Agency done to date?

The Environment Agency carried out a Day of Action in July 2025. Since then, no further waste has been deposited and all machinery and equipment was removed.

We last attended the site on 7 January 2026, where we were satisfied that the site remains abandoned and no further tipping has occurred

    Timeline

    • The site was previously subject to low-level fly tipping of inert waste from 2018

    • In May 2024 we were notified that the volumes and type of waste had changed. In response officers attended the site regularly, alongside the police, to monitor activity

    • On 13 June 2025 there was a large fire at the site, requiring fire service attendance. Since this last large fire event the fire service have been called out intermittently to deal with reported events of smoke and have taken appropriate action

    • In July 2025 the Environment Agency led a multi-agency day of action, with Gloucestershire Police, Tewkesbury District Council and Gloucestershire County Councilwhere we substantiated a large volume of waste deposited on the site without the relevant environmental permits.
