Where is the site?
The site is located at Crabbe Lane, Wadborough, Worcester, WR8 9HF.
EA action
The Environment Agency made an application under the Proceeds of Crime Act (POCA) 2002, which required the Defendant to pay over £2.1m under the Confiscation Order. This site was identified as an available asset which could be sold to discharge part of the order.
The Enforcement Receiver took possession of the land on 30 September 2024. The site has been secured with locked gates and fencing and no further waste has been deposited.
In November 2024, the Environment Agency advised the new landowner that the waste should be removed. We will continue to work with them to understand likely timescales for removal.
What has the Environment Agency done to date?
On 12 July 2022 there was a fire at the site which required fire service attendance.
We believe that the majority of the waste was deposited between April 2023 and November 2024, prior to the sale of the site.
The enforcement receiver sold the land to Katesten Developments Limited in January 2025.
