Understanding the EPA
How are the ratings calculated?
Each company can receive an overall rating of between 1 and 4 stars. The rating is based on its performance against the EPA measures.
A 4-star rating represents industry-leading performance. Lower ratings show that improvement is required.
Some measures are also given a green, amber or red status. These show whether the company has met the relevant performance target.
