Surfleet Reservoir Threshold Surveys

Information affecting your property

The Environment Agency will be undertaking surveys at Surfleet Reservoir.

The surveys will collect ground and flood defence levels. This will help us decide if any repairs are needed. The levels of property doorways and entry points will also be collected to inform emergency flood planning.

Storm Geomatics Limited will be carrying out these surveys on our behalf. We instruct them to carry official identification which they will present upon request.

What do I need to know?

The surveys will be non-intrusive, requiring garden access only. Gates etc will be left as found.

Our contractors will be on site during week commencing 15 September 2025.

The work will last approximately four days. Our contractors will operate during weekdays:

Monday to Friday 8am to 5pm

We are carrying out these surveys pursuant to the function placed on the Environment Agency under section 105(2) of Water Resources Act 1991:

105 General functions with respect to flood defence.

(2) For the purpose of carrying out its flood defence functions the appropriate agency shall from time to time carry out surveys of the areas in relation to which it carries out those functions.

We may share the information collected with other Risk Management Authorities, such as Lincolnshire County Council and South Holland District Council to assist with Emergency Planning.

If you do not wish for this to happen at your property, or if you have time constraints, please let us know by 12 September on the details below.
