Exploring a route for construction traffic

We know how that construction traffic is an important topic to residents.

Now that the M25 junction 10 works are complete there is a possible alternative haul route that could be used to take soil offsite from areas south of the river Wey. This new route could help reduce the amount of lorry movements leaving our site via Mill Lane.

We are working closely with Surrey County Council and National Highways to explore this new haul route for our scheme.


Getting funding

The scheme is expected to be funded by government funding (known as Grant in Aid - GiA) from Defra, alongside contributions from partners as outlined below.

GiA is currently under pressure nationally due to a lot of projects applying for funding. This has meant that there is limited availability over the next year. Partnership funding enables the project to keep progressing at this time and improves our ability to secure GiA for future years. Opportunities to secure other partnership funding sources are also being actively explored.


Streamlining our design to achieve a resolution to grant for planning

This is a formal decision made by the local planning authority agreeing to approve a planning application, allowing us to draft the legal agreements required before the official planning permission notice is issued. We are updating our drawings to include the identified cost reduction opportunities so that our application can be reviewed in the December Planning Committee.
