Routine Watercourse Maintenance Notice - 9 September

Routine Environment Agency maintenance works will be taking place on Wednesday 9 September within the Portreath stream.

This work is part of the Environment Agency's regular maintenance programme and is not related to the Portreath Flood Resilience Scheme.

The maintenance team will be:

  • Removing weed from within the channel.
  • Using strimmers and hand-held hedge cutters to trim vegetation.

This is routine maintenance that helps maintain the watercourse and is carried out as part of the Environment Agency's standard asset management activities. No herbicide spraying will be undertaken as part of these works.

The work is expected to be completed within the day. While teams are working in the area, members of the public may notice maintenance operatives and equipment along sections of the stream. We apologise for any minor inconvenience and thank residents for their understanding.
