Tree Removal Following Storm Amy

The Gainsborough Field Team were on site today to remove a tree that had fallen onto the embankment of Mill Dam Dyke during Storm Amy.

The incident was reported on Saturday shortly after the tree came down. The duty incident team assessed the site and confirmed there was no immediate flood risk, allowing the removal to be scheduled during normal weekday working hours.

The tree has now been partly removed, the embankment and road are clear. The remainder of the tree will be removed this week. This follows on from recent works carried out by contractors on our behalf, helping to maintain the channel’s capacity and reduce flood risk.
