Drought Update

Drought Update for North Scarle

Following a record dry July and ongoing hot weather, the lack of rain coupled with continued high temperatures has increased pressures on water resources, agriculture, the natural environment and local communities.

In response to these conditions, the East Midlands area has formally moved to Drought status. This follows the Environment Agency's announcement that more areas across England have been declared in drought due to prolonged dry weather.
