Natural flood management (NFM) projects: FCERM funding support
The window to submit bids for standalone NFM funding in 2027/28 has now closed. Opportunity bids can still be submitted, but these will be considered for funding in future years.
From this point onwards, the opportunity form should be used by non-Risk Management Authorities (non-RMAs) only. Risk Management Authorities and the Environment Agency should use PAFS and AIMS Pipeline .
We will update this page and the associated guidance following our review of the opportunity bids for 2027/28.
This page can be viewed on any device, but has been optimised for use on a desktop computer/monitor
This site hosts informal guidance, sitting alongside the formal GOV.UK content, to help Natural Flood Management (NFM) projects understand and access funding in the Environment Agency’s FCERM investment programme.
Stay up to date!
Updates for non-RMAs delivering NFM projects will be posted here, so keep checking in to see new information.
To support applicants, we have published a briefing note that brings together important information, advice and tips to help you develop a strong application and navigate the funding process.
In order to be able to use the NFM Benefits Calculator you will need to have an Educational/Charitable Organisation MCM Licence. You can purchase this via the MCM ononline store at the link below:
