How are we responding?
Our 24/7 duty teams are monitoring the situation closely and issuing flood warnings and updates as necessary. We have field teams actively checking and clearing flood risk management assets and keeping screens clear to ensure rivers are unobstructed to allow for water to flow through the catchments.
Our staff have been out on the ground talking to affected residents and we will continue to visit communities over the coming weeks. We are grateful to residents who have taken the time to speak with us, many of whom who have been flooded. This information helps us understand groundwater flooding and helps us co-ordinate a response with our partners.
We are working with our partners in the Local Resilience Forums, including local authorities and the Emergency Services, to co-ordinate the response to flooded communities.
