Update on groundwater flooding – June 2026

Following the 2026 groundwater flooding and local drop-in events, Dorset Council’s Cabinet has confirmed which communities it will formally investigate. You can find more information in the Cabinet paper here: Dorset Council cabinet paper - 2026 Flood Investigation Studies


Dorset Council will now review data collected during the drop-in events alongside other available information. However, flooding is often under-reported, and some communities may have been affected that are not currently included.


The Council will look at investigating additional communities that may have been impacted by flooding, but for this to be considered please take action by:
