River Beane Flagship Programme
We’re pleased to share this short overview of the River Beane Flagship programme, a long-term partnership bringing together organisations, land managers and communities to restore one of England’s globally rare chalk streams. The Flagship represents a once-in-a-generation opportunity to accelerate the recovery of the Beane, improving water quality, restoring natural flows, rebuilding habitats and strengthening the river’s resilience for both nature and people.
The enclosed booklet provides a quick introduction to the programme, the challenges facing the catchment, the action already underway and the ambitious programme of work planned for the years ahead. We hope you’ll find it useful and would be very grateful if you would share it with colleagues, partners or others who may be interested in supporting or contributing to the recovery of the River Beane.
