Adaptation Pathways Citizens’ Panels

During 2024, the Environment Agency and its partners held citizens’ panels to understand how to work with local people to develop adaptation pathways.

The citizens’ panels provided an opportunity for residents in each Adaptation Pathway Project location to discuss and deliberate on local plans to increase resilience to floods and coastal change. The Panels allowed us to be in listening mode and:

  • ask residents what matters to them for their local options to adapt to climate change.
  • capture the challenges and ideas identified by residents in developing AP.
  • explore ways to continue working with the public to help develop AP in each location.
